About the partners
Stephen has been litigating in personal injury law since 1990. He lectured on the Road Accident Fund Act for over 10 years at the School for Legal Practice.
He has also lectured on medical malpractice litigation on behalf of the Law Society of the Northern Provinces, as well as to various interest groups within the medical profession.
He is a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers in the United Kingdom and has been involved in numerous cases involving overseas nationals who have been injured in South Africa due to both medical negligence and motor vehicle accidents.
Stephen is a keen motorcyclist and as such, is passionate about representing victims of motorcycle accidents who often suffer devastating injuries in accidents that were not their fault.
Karen has practised exclusively in the field of personal injury since 1990. She lectured personal injury to candidate attorneys at the request of the Law Society for approximately 12 years and presented talks to fellow attorneys on how to process medical negligence claims.
Karen has also presented at seminars and conferences on various aspects of medical negligence claims. She has previously sat on the Executive Committee of the South African Medico-Legal Society (SAMLA) and she is a member of the Association of a Personal Injury Lawyers (AAPIL) in the United Kingdom.
Karen has vast experience in prosecuting highly complex and technical cases in the field of Road Accident Fund Claims and Medical Negligence with some cases proceeding to the High Court for several weeks.
She also prosecuted on behalf of 1500 Asbestos victims, large-scale litigation against Cape PLC, which was a British based company and which case was vigorously fought and ultimately, she succeeded in England’s highest court being the House of Lords.
Karen has had a number of foreign clients from the USA, England, France, Germany and Australia whose cases were successfully prosecuted by her in South Africa.
